Visit Sarasota County (VSC) recognizes sports events as a major contributor to the overall tourism economy. To develop this business, VSC has put in place a grant program for events seeking financial support.

This funding is allocated to locally organized events and/or held on an annual or reoccurring basis that produces overnight visitation to Sarasota County.

Application Process

VSC has a comprehensive application that must be completed for all sports events seeking financial support through VSC. The Visit Sarasota Sports staff reviews applications as they are submitted and the applicant will be contacted within 2-3 business days.

Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis; and applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. We are currently accepting applications for all events occurring prior to September 30, 2024.

Funding is distributed after the event is completed and a Post Event Report has been submitted.

Additional Forms

 Team Lodging Survey or Individual Participant Survey can be distributed during registration in order to collect attendance and lodging information for post-event reporting. 

Visit Sarasota County can create personalized digital surveys upon request.
