USA Swimming Returns to Nathan Benderson Park for Open Water National & Junior National Championships
From April 4-6, USA Swimming and the Sarasota Sharks, in partnership with Visit Sarasota County, will return to Nathan Benderson Park (NBP) for the third consecutive year to host their Open Water National Championships.
Following the 2024 Paris Olympics, this three-day open-water swimming event will feature Olympians and elite athletes from around the world competing across multiple race divisions. Key participants will also include top swimmers from Sarasota County, U.S. Masters Swimming, and Swim Canada. The competition will be used to select the rosters for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, set for July in Singapore.
Interviews are available on request with Bryce Elser, USA Swimming’s National Team Operations Director, and Peter Harvey, Visit Sarasota County’s director of sports, as well as event athletes. Please let us know if you’re interested in attending and/or covering this event.
