From July 18-22, Prospect Wire, a premier baseball event organizer founded to help high school athletes showcase their skills to college coaches and MLB scouts, will host its 7th Annual National Championship in Sarasota County. In partnership with Visit Sarasota County, the series serves as Prospect Wire’s premier end-of-summer event, bringing together more than 80 teams, 1,700 participants, and 2,300 spectators from across the state and country.
"Prospect Wire is excited to return, once again, to the west coast of Florida for our National Championship, the end of our summer tournament schedule,” said Brian Werner, President of Prospect Wire. “The Sarasota area provides such a beautiful backdrop to our event, with so much entertainment to offer, beautiful beaches and some of the best facilities in the state. We are grateful for our partnership with Visit Sarasota, as well as the Braves & Orioles. We can't wait to host over 80 teams yet again in 2026."
Media are invited to attend and cover this multi-day tournament, held across several premier baseball venues in the region, including the Atlanta Braves Spring Training Complex, the Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Complex, and the Tampa Bay Rays Spring Training Complex in Port Charlotte. About Prospect Wire
Prospect Wire was founded in 2005 by Matt Bomeisl as a way to give high school baseball players a platform to promote their skills to college coaches and MLB scouts. Starting with individual showcases in South Florida for the first few years, Prospect Wire added a team tournament in 2009 (Florida State Finals), an event that is still run today as the Southeast Championships. In 2011, Prospect Wire made the decision to take their events across the country to Arizona, and brought Jeff Spelman on board to help assist with our introduction to a new set of teams. Jeff founded Team One Baseball in the early 90’s and brought a wealth of showcase experience to the table. In 2016, Prospect Wire once again made the decision to expand, adding a major event in greater Los Angeles (LA Invitational) and following that in 2017 with the addition of the San Diego Invitational. Today, after 20 years in the industry, Prospect Wire continues its goal of bringing a unique tournament & showcase experience to players, coaches, and families around the country.
