LaBrea is one of ten neighborhood parks within the City of North Port parks system. The deed to LaBrea Park was presented to the City of North Port by General Development Corporation at a Commission workshop in June of 1976. The 2.69 acre park includes green space with Live Oak, American Elm, Eucalyptus and Sabal Palm. In May of 2012, the City collaborated with People for Trees to plant additional trees at this park site with several local service clubs and organizations volunteering their assistance.
